Dr. Christina Yung
Director, Genome Informatics
Dr. Christina Yung has an interdisciplinary background in bioinformatics, computational biology, machine learning, cancer genomics and cloud computing. Dr. Yung leads the International Cancer Genome Consortium (ICGC) Data Coordination Centre developing the Accelerating Research in Genomic Oncology (ARGO) Data Platform and the ICGC Data Portal. Other big data projects include the NCI Genomics Data Commons (GDC) Data Portal, the NCI Human Cancer Model Initiatives (HCMI) Searchable Catalog, and the International HundredK+ Cohorts Consortium (IHCC) Data Atlas. The team’s software is available as an open-source suite called Overture. Dr. Yung also leads the operations of the Cancer Genome Collaboratory, a compute cloud located in Toronto.
